My family and I are at my parents place for the weekend in Springfield, OR, not the town I grew up in, but the sister city of Eugene, where I did spend my childhood/teen years growing up. My parents had plans for us to watch the fireworks at a local park with bands from all across the country. While I had a great time and enjoyed being with my family, I couldn’t forget about an email I had read shortly before we left.
I got an email from my friend Todd Vanderstelt . The second paragraph of the email read, “It is with a very heavy and saddened heart that we are emailing you today. Yesterday morning, Troy VanderStelt, a son, brother, husband, and father was selfishly taken from us in a senseless act. ” Please read the full story here or here. I couldn’t stop thinking about Troy and his family while I watched other dads running around, chasing their kids, holding them up high on their shoulders with the fireworks lighting up the sky, that his two little ones would never experience this with their dad.
Please take the time to read Troy’s story. And if possible, help out with contributing to his kids educational trust. If you happen to have any friends that are realtors, please forward this story to them. Thank you.
