Because they change so fast…

When you have a newborn, under tired and weary eyes and lack of sleep, you admire your infant and wish that they could stay like that forever. But you also revel at the changes that they go through from sleeping for 1 hour to 3 hours and then eventually, hopefully….through the night. You also are excited about every major milestone they hit…from sitting up to crawling to walking.

And then, after that infant year is over, you spend your time chasing them around, making sure your house is child proofed and as safe as possible while enjoying watching them explore their surroundings and new found freedom.

I’ve recently had the pleasure of photographing older children who are going through a new growth phase. Those baby teeth have served their purpose and now it’s time for them to depart and pave way for those permanent teeth. I haven’t really thought about it much for my own daughter until recently, when all of her friends seem to be getting frequent visits from the tooth fairy.

I had a request from a recent client to try to capture her daughter with her teeth still somewhat in tact before she lost her first teeth. There were 3 loose ones at the time of our session a few weeks ago. So, I’m guessing at least one, if not all of them are gone by now.

Enjoy!
