I had the privilege of spending the afternoon this past Wednesday on the track & field at Westview H.S. capturing images of the athletic teams participating in SPARQ’s Rating day. If you’re not familiar with SPARQ, you should check it out here. It’s basically a scientific methodology/training for every athlete to achieve their fullest potential. During the hour session of rating, athletes from the football, volleyball, soccer, basketball, baseball, softball, etc. teams participated in rating to establish a baseline of their current athletic potential. It was pretty cool to see all these athletes from different sports out on the field. Apparently, this was the first time SPARQ had done testing with multiple high school sports athletes at the same time.
This past fall/winter, our gym had a version of this that I participated in for a few months and had a blast. At the beginning and end of each of our sessions, we were ‘rated’ and it was really cool to see the improvement in just a matter of 4 weeks. So, I had a blast out on the field watching these teens and really wanted to participate myself! It was extremely hot and somewhat humid this day, so, fortunately for them, it was only an hour long.
