The weather in the pacific northwest this fall has been off the hook gorgeous! It’s been great having the opportunity to take advantage of this great weather for our current Class of 2013 high school senior portrait sessions. Wyatt’s senior session was no exception. While he may be a little quiet and shy, he rocked his urban session. You can see for yourself in his sneak peek below! And…I was so happy to have his mom along to accompany him, keep both of us entertained & help out as my assistant to boot!

Wow! Where have I been and where has the time gone? While I have been absent online, senior season is in full force and between my consulting life (non-photography), photog life and personal life, busy season is in full force. I’m happy to say that I have the school supplies done and ready to go for back to school but still need a good school clothes shopping outing to make sure we’re all set for school season.

That said, I can’t believe how quickly time has passed. I meet Jacob 4 years ago when he was just starting high school. I can’t believe that his senior year is here already and that in just a blink of an eye, he will be off to college. But, for now, we’ll stay in the present. We went out last week into downtown Portland for his high school senior portraits. It was a hot day and things were hopping in the Pearl District. I led him on a wild goose chase to track down the Real World PDX house and got a bonus of getting to watch part of the Portland Twilight Criterium to boot! Hopefully I didn’t bore him to tears. At any rate, I had fun being back out on the town with camera in hand. Enjoy your sneak peek!

It was an absolutely gorgeous (albeit, cold) day in Portland but we couldn’t have asked for anything better. She knew exactly how to work the camera and its angles! Love the vibrant fall colors! And the decent fall weather keeps gracing us with it’s presence! Meet Cam…one of my Class of 2012 Model Reps from Sunset HS ….again, but this time for sports portraits and a few shots with his girlfriend AND his sister! Had a blast photographing all of them. For some schools, the senior portrait rush is coming to a close with the eminent deadline for senior yearbook photo submissions. However, that doesn’t mean that you can’t get creative senior portraits taken before your senior year is over. I had a blast photographing Carson on a sunny, yet windy, fall day in Portland. He did a great job putting up with my numerous location selections for our shoot in the Pearl District as well as a somewhat longer, drawn out session on the field at Westview HS. Destined for good things to come, I continue to be impressed with the senior clients that are coming through my studio. Congrats on all of your accomplishments. Meet Chas….  I can’t believe it was already 2 years ago that I photographed his sister, Shelby’s senior portraits. Chas’ senior photo session kind of went a little something like this over text:

Me: It’s not supposed to rain today. It’s raining but let’s go for it anyway. Tuesday won’t be any better.

Mom: Ok, we’re good with anything, just tell us where to meet you.

By the time I got to the location where I told them to meet me….it was pouring. And I was definitely having second thoughts. But somehow, as soon as we started shooting, the rain stopped but we were well covered by one of Portland’s many bridges. We ended up having a blast coming up with all kinds of creative….even if the weather wasnt that great. But…according to Chas, he ‘LOVES’ the rain! So, as long as he was ok with it, I was ok with it. And, his hair wasn’t going to get messed up regardless. I had a little story I was going to tell about Chas’ special lacrosse stick, but I will spare him the embarrassment. If you’re friends with Chas, you’ll just have to ask him. I have no doubt he will be willing to share! Right? Enjoy your sneak peek!

Had a blast racing against the rain with Tyler’s senior portrait session in downtown Portland. We even made a quick stop on the way home to grab a quick shot in front of a garbage can with graffiti that he had seen on the way to his session. Since he already got one of those with mom’s iphone, I’ll share the ones he doesn’t have

Cam is one of my high school senior Model Reps from Sunset High School. We photographed him in the studio earlier this year – you can check out his photos from our studio session just outside of the Pearl District here. I love it when clients are willing to try just about anything. We were in a new location, testing out some new equipment. I really love the images we got from Cam’s session. There are plenty of ‘smiling’ shots but I wanted to show a few of the dramatic shots we got because the sky was just too cool during his session. Enjoy your sneak peek!

Meet Hayden from Sunset HS. I had a blast photographing his senior pictures AND photographing his family all within a week of each other. I think Hayden has had his fair share of paparazzi and camera time in a one week period to last him a lifetime! Where does the time go? It seems like it was just yesterday that I photographed Nick and his family and he was just barely starting high school. Now, almost 18 & legal, Nick has become a handsome young man! I had a blast photographing him…as well as getting a few pics of his sister in there. If only we had the urban clothes to go with it! Nick…I wish you all the best your last year in high school!
