Wow…the whirlwind summer has come to an end and transitioned into a continuing whirlwind fall! Which, I am very grateful for. It’s fun keeping busy and a newborn family shoot interspersed with my high school seniors, is a challenge and welcome relief to turn on a different part of my creativity. The more time I spend in my not so new career, the more I’ve come to realize that Portland really is a ‘small’ city. Baby Jack is the 3rd baby in a group of friends with Baby Caleb & Baby Owen to join the Melissa Hathaway Photography portfolio! Although Jack gave me a little run for my money, I managed to get some fun shots that incorporated him and his in-home surroundings. Enjoy your sneak peek! 

Friends that are very near and dear to us, Danielle and Austin have had their first baby boy……Nixin. He’s so cute and tiny, I just want to squeeze him…but there’s no chunky baby rolls to pinch! Grandma got to get in on a little of the photo op since she was there. Congratulations you guys! We’re so happy for you. And yes, we will do more but you’re going to have to turn off the fans and a/c if you want him to be happy! See you soon!

In the process of trying to get myself organized and tame some of the chaos in my life, that I have of course, created on my own. I’ve decided that while I do take time to get to know my senior clients in person and over the phone and sometimes in face to face pre-consultations, I also want to have a little fun so I get to know them just a little bit better before they come to my studio. Hence, my senior questionnaires. Now, I’m not so sure my ‘guy’ clients will like these questions, and maybe not even some of the girls for that matter, but for me, it helps me bring out my client’s personality in their images if I get to know them a little (or a lot) better beforehand. So, we’re going to start doing something new.

Some of Sarah’s responses really caught my eye because I think for the first time, the answer to the ‘favorite place to eat’ wasn’t  Chipotle! Although, I do like Chipotle, I am also a closet foodie and am all about good food. So, meet Sarah…she’s smart, she’s beautiful and she’s got great taste! If you haven’t been to at least 2 of these restaurants, you definitely need to take her advice!
