With a little over 24 hours before the Oregon vs. Purdue game, it’s only fitting to start this post out with the picture below. This 3 yo, ‘D’ knows his team! We started off talking about the upcoming football game and he immediately through his hands in the air to make an ‘O’ for ‘Oregon’! When ‘D’ was 1 year old, we took his first birthday pictures at Cornelius Pass Roadhouse. Now that he’s a big brother and just turned 3, there’s lots to celebrate. His little brother is now ’1′, so we’re creating some family traditions and photographing the family at the same place. These boys were so sweet and fortunately the weather held out for us and only started sprinkling just after we loaded up into our cars. I had a blast re-creating similar shots that we did for D’s first birthday with lil’ brother ‘T’.

Everybody makes mistakes…it happens, it’s just part of life. But this one I’m pretty bummed about. All of my senior clients receive a session guide from me that helps them prepare for ‘what to expect’ and ‘what to wear’ or ‘what to bring’, etc. But for some reason, I failed to click the little ‘check box’ in my studio management software that would send this information to Heather. Although she brought an awesome wardrobe with her, we didn’t get an opportunity to incorporate the other major part of her life – cheerleading and softball. If I were to have written ‘one word to describe Heather’, I probably would have said ‘DRIVEN’. She really has it together. College bound and already accepted to Grand Canyon University, Heather said she wants to go to school for medicine. Wow…ok, great! But the next question really surprised me when she told me that she already knows what field of medicine she wants to specialize in! Meet Taylor…again…Taylor is one of my senior reps from Prarie HS and had her model session earlier this spring. Fortunately, on both occasions the sun graced us with its presence. And this time around…it may have been a little warm but not nearly has hot as it was about 2 weeks ago. And…I had the pleasure of having Taylor’s mom and her best friend along for this session…so I had 2 built in helpers! Thanks a ton – both of you, especially mom, for running back and forth to my truck to grab stuff. Enjoy your sneak peek!

As the end of summer draws near, most of our Class of ’09 graduates are getting ready for their next adventure in life…whatever it may be, college, work, etc. One of my model reps from last year, Sean from Westview HS has high sights set on Pitzer College in So Cal. As part of his benefits of being a Senior Model Rep, Sean’s family took advantage of their family photo session a few weeks ago. While I’ve known Sean’s dad for several years since we used to work together, it was great to see the entire family together. I still need to post a sneak peek of his brother Ben’s lacrosse pictures as part of our sports portfolio that we’re working on at the moment.

Wow…I can’t believe how fast time flies! I’ve known Tanner since my daughter started preschool at Country Kids Learning Center 4 years ago. While it’s hard/exciting to think how fast my own daughter has changed in four years, it’s also amazing how fast 4 years can go. So, essentially, I’ve known Tanner since he started high school and have had the privilege to watch him change and mature over 4 years – or almost 4 years, I should say. If most of you have been following along with the blog, you’ve probably seen me posting more sports pictures. And what perfect subject to photograph than an avid baseball player! While he hopes to play college ball, I’m thinking he might make a great sports model as well!

If you haven’t had a chance to check out some of my work, you’ll soon find that I like things just a ‘wee bit’ different than ‘normal’. Whatever ‘normal’ is! I started photographing Ashley two years ago when she was a sophomore and dancing at All Star Dance Academy in NW Portland. I feel privileged and honored that Ashely wanted to enjoy my Model Rep Crew for the Class of 2010. Not only does she have me ROTFL during our sessions but she also knows how to turn on the ‘serious’ when necessary. Absolutely LOVED taking Ashley out in her tutu and capturing these images for her senior session!

It’s almost 10 pm and it’s still 90 degrees outside. This is the Pacific NW…we are MELTING! And not from the rain! Ok, I can’t complain, I used to live in the midwest for a period of time and the southwest as well. I can honestly say I do enjoy the heat but am happy that it isn’t 100+ like it was earlier this week. Fortunately for Kwynn, we escaped the heat wave before it hit and had a beautiful day that wasn’t too hot to be outside with semi-long sleeves on. I love surprises! I didn’t know that Kwynn is a soccer player and was pleasantly surprised when she came with all her soccer gear! As some of you may know, I’m in the process of building out my sports portfolio and having a fun time doing it too!
