Cam is one of my high school senior Model Reps from Sunset High School. We photographed him in the studio earlier this year – you can check out his photos from our studio session just outside of the Pearl District here. I love it when clients are willing to try just about anything. We were in a new location, testing out some new equipment. I really love the images we got from Cam’s session. Meet Jared, another one of my high school senior male clients who had me fully entertained for both his sports portrait session and his outdoor senior session. Jared’s mom and I go way back to my former ‘cubicle’ days. Jared and I started at the Bethany West CoastTae Kwon Do school where Master George helped me with figuring out some good angle and posing. Best friends, Kendall and Haley contacted me earlier in the year before school was out to set up their senior portrait session in Portland. We had awesome weather (maybe a little hot), a beautiful background, and some awesome assistants as well – thanks to Haley’s sister, Morgan and her mom! This seems to be the year of siblings. I started photographing high school seniors about 4 years ago and now some of my first high school senior clients are getting to graduate college and their siblings are coming for their senior portraits! Meet Taylor…again…Taylor is one of my senior reps from Prarie HS and had her model session earlier this spring. Fortunately, on both occasions the sun graced us with its presence. And this time around…it may have been a little warm but not nearly has hot as it was about 2 weeks ago. And…I had the pleasure of having Taylor’s mom and her best friend along for this session…so I had 2 built in helpers! As the end of summer draws near, most of our Class of ’09 graduates are getting ready for their next adventure in life…whatever it may be, college, work, etc. One of my model reps from last year, Sean from Westview HS has high sights set on Pitzer College in So Cal. As part of his benefits of being a Senior Model Rep, Sean’s family took advantage of their family photo session a few weeks ago. While I’ve known Sean’s dad for several years since we used to work together, it was great to see the entire family together. I still need to post a sneak peek of his brother Ben’s lacrosse pictures as part of our sports portfolio that we’re working on at the moment.

If you haven’t had a chance to check out some of my work, you’ll soon find that I like things just a ‘wee bit’ different than ‘normal’. Whatever ‘normal’ is! I started photographing Ashley two years ago when she was a sophomore and dancing at All Star Dance Academy in NW Portland. I feel privileged and honored that Ashely wanted to enjoy my Model Rep Crew for the Class of 2010. Not only does she have me ROTFL during our sessions but she also knows how to turn on the ‘serious’ when necessary. Absolutely LOVED taking Ashley out in her tutu and capturing these images for her senior session!

It’s almost 10 pm and it’s still 90 degrees outside. This is the Pacific NW…we are MELTING! And not from the rain! Ok, I can’t complain, I used to live in the midwest for a period of time and the southwest as well. I can honestly say I do enjoy the heat but am happy that it isn’t 100+ like it was earlier this week. Fortunately for Kwynn, we escaped the heat wave before it hit and had a beautiful day that wasn’t too hot to be outside with semi-long sleeves on. I love surprises! I didn’t know that Kwynn is a soccer player and was pleasantly surprised when she came with all her soccer gear! As some of you may know, I’m in the process of building out my sports portfolio and having a fun time doing it too!
