Where does the time go? It seems like it was just yesterday that I photographed Nick and his family and he was just barely starting high school. Now, almost 18 & legal, Nick has become a handsome young man! I had a blast photographing him…as well as getting a few pics of his sister in there. If only we had the urban clothes to go with it! Nick…I wish you all the best your last year in high school!

So I’m told that summer is ending on Friday. Given last weekend’s weather conditions, I think everyone within the Portland metropolitan area was disappointed to see such a fast departure of summer and the quick tease of fall upon us. Fortunately, the sun is back for a while and we had good weather for Annalia’s senior portrait session last week before the rain came. I can’t believe just a week ago, it was clear blue skies and 85-90 degrees. Fast forward 7 days and here we are with a quick rude awakening to fall in Oregon with 60 and rainy. Last weekend I had the pleasure of photographing a nice young man from my alma mater, Churchill High School in Eugene. Daniel was part of my Limited Edition sessions I did in Eugene last weekend. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that as part of my sessions, I was also going to be able to end my sessions with a senior – and a senior athlete at that! Meet Jared, another one of my high school senior male clients who had me fully entertained for both his sports portrait session and his outdoor senior session. Jared’s mom and I go way back to my former ‘cubicle’ days. Jared and I started at the Bethany West CoastTae Kwon Do school where Master George helped me with figuring out some good angle and posing. Best friends, Kendall and Haley contacted me earlier in the year before school was out to set up their senior portrait session in Portland. We had awesome weather (maybe a little hot), a beautiful background, and some awesome assistants as well – thanks to Haley’s sister, Morgan and her mom! This seems to be the year of siblings. I started photographing high school seniors about 4 years ago and now some of my first high school senior clients are getting to graduate college and their siblings are coming for their senior portraits! A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of photographing a sibling of a former high school senior portrait client from Westview high school. While I’ve meet both of her sisters, Kwynn and her younger sister Kiah, I hadn’t had the chance to meet Keirra. And not only had I not met her before, but when she came in, I thought her sister, Kwynn was a friend. I think I must definitely be getting old because although it has only been a year, I thought Kwynn looked a little older and more grown up to the point that I didn’t recognize her! (I really did mean it when I said you look older – but in a good way!). I had a ton of fun tooling around the urban locations near the studio with the girls. Enjoy your sneak peek!

Meet Tyson from Beaverton High School. Tyson wanted a variety in his senior pictures; wanting to incorporate both studio portraits and some on location. I had fun trying to create some off the wall, creative and edgy portraits in areas that I haven’t shot in previously. Fortunately, he came to me specifically for ‘creative,’ ‘edgy’, and ‘out of the box’. Not sure how much more we could have pushed the envelope by creating ‘boogie boarding in northwest industrial Portland’ but something tells me, we’ll just have to keep pushing it next year.
