Meet Emily, another upcoming graduate of Westview’s Class of 2012! Emily brought her mom and her peppy charm and they both kept me laughing during her portrait session. It’s been getting pretty warm lately during these afternoon sessions, so we had to take a quick sidebar into Starbuck’s to cool off and rehydrate. We tried out a few new locations that I haven’t had the opportunity to shoot in and around the Pearl District. In addition to sneaking in a sports portrait with her cheerleading outfit! A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of photographing a sibling of a former high school senior portrait client from Westview high school. While I’ve meet both of her sisters, Kwynn and her younger sister Kiah, I hadn’t had the chance to meet Keirra. And not only had I not met her before, but when she came in, I thought her sister, Kwynn was a friend. I think I must definitely be getting old because although it has only been a year, I thought Kwynn looked a little older and more grown up to the point that I didn’t recognize her! (I really did mean it when I said you look older – but in a good way!). I had a ton of fun tooling around the urban locations near the studio with the girls. Enjoy your sneak peek!

Much to my chagrin, there will be no “He Said…” accompanied with this post. However, I think I spent enough time with Colin and his mom (my assistant for the day) to get to know him well enough. I had a blast photographing Colin and having his mom along for the afternoon as well. When they first showed up at the studio, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that I had just seen her earlier in the morning at the gym @ my 5:30 a.m. wake up call, Cardio Extreme class. Unfortunately, because of this, I knew that she could keep up and proceeded to have her field Colin’s passes outside as we explored the streets of the Pearl District! We ended up turning Colin’s Signature Session into a Free Style session to capture what Colin is really all about – football and the great outdoors. Although Colin claims he’s not great at being in front of a camera, he turned on his best modeling skills for this session without really trying!

Extremely intelligent, well-rounded and success bound…..those are the words that I would use to describe recent Class of 2010 graduate, Kristi. She’s college bound to BYU in the fall with just about everything going for her. But it’s not all books and studying for her. She’s been involved in theater and choir her high school years and hope she finds a way to continue that as she gets involved in her new home away from home. Kristi, a HUGE congratulations to you. These past few weeks leading up to the 4th of July weekend have been busy, busy! Last Friday I had the pleasure of photographing Laney, a soon to be junior at Westview High School and hopefully…a future model rep for the Class of 2011I’ve had the pleasure of photographing Laney’s sister as one of the members of the Dance Companies at All Star Dance Academy in NW Portland. Last summer I had the privilege of photographing Ashley with another mutual friend. I was pleasantly surprised to receive a text message a few months ago from Ashley asking if she could be a rep for me. We had fun last Fri morning since there was no school roaming around another area of Portland that I have always enjoyed visiting with friends. I’m happy that I was able to take advantage of sharing it with one of my reps!

Almost a year ago when I was recruiting reps for the senior class of ’09, I received an application from a then, graduating 8th grader. Fast forward a year later and several email exchanges later, I finally contact this girl to do a little fun shoot for some upcoming project I want to launch. Details coming soon.

Fortunately, the weather cooperated and stayed dry for us, despite some of the cold. We started off downtown near the studio and made our way back closer to home. All three of these girls are soon to be Sophomores and attend Westview HS. I hope you girls had as much fun as I did. Here’s a few for a quick sneak peek!
